- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I'm a military overseas returnee and have had the worst experience trying to register my motorcycle and vehicle. The people working in this office are rude and not knowledgeable. My motorcycle was shipped with my household goods, which means there is no customs paperwork accompanying the motorcycle. The workers there insisted that I provide customs paperwork, which was not provided with my bike. I had to call my PCS manager, ask her for clarification. I was told that she was doing military moves for 30+ years and she has never heard of this. After 3 days of back and forth with the DMV and talking to state officials, I was finally able to register. Now, onto my car, I have all documents to include title and customs paperwork as my vehicle was a separate shipment from overseas. I could not register that vehicle because they could not issue me a New Mexico title. I temporary registered the vehicle, came in some weeks later to finalize, and their systems were down with no manual backup capabilities. This state's motor vehicle registration process is by far the worst I have ever seen. The services are terrible, the customer service rude, and just plain annoying to deal with. New Mexico, fix your systems and have a manual backup for when systems go down. This is ridiculous.By W Hooper, December 16, 2016
